The Dragon’s unleashed as the team presents its new name, logo and website.
16th March, 2016
It’s never easy to reinvent yourself. It takes ambition, motivation and energy to change almost a decade of routines and steady progress. However, sometimes opportunities and timings present themselves in a way that makes it very hard to ignore. Our history doesn’t start with World of Warcraft. Even before the guild was created, all the way back in 2007, our passion for esports was already showing its roots. At the time, competitive and professional gaming was only taking its first steps but we immediately knew this was something we wanted to be involved with. Ultimately, this lead to the ambition that helped building a project that after 9 years, still tries, every single day, to get better and stronger.
We are proud of what we’ve accomplished but over the years we also made it mandatory to never forget we can do more, and to not rest while we do. Coming from our best season ever with World of Warcraft, it’s important to remind ourselves that we’ve had, in the past, very successful spells with other games with attendances in the Electronic Sports World Cup in France, or the IeSF in South Korea.
The year of 2016 marks yet another turn of the page for our team. We’re proud to say that the team will from this moment be known as Dragon Esports. We’re also proud to present our new website, new image, and our reinforced ambition and passion for esports to do more and bring you even more successful results and performances, even after such a long and tiresome, but rewarding road. We invite everyone to browse around and get to know us, re-visit some familiar faces, and take a stop by our social media. The next few months should prove to be interesting as we introduce you to some more of our plans and players going into new games, and new seasons of old games but for now, we would like to proudly let you know that the immediate future will mark the return of Dragon to new games, new genres and more successful spells competing across all that professional gaming has to offer us.
To finalize, we’d also like to thank everyone involved with making this project grow. The size we’ve reached is infinitely larger than the day we were created and the only reason we managed to become such an example of sustainability was due to the commitment of the people we surrounded ourselves with and unconditional loyalty to the bigger picture we’ve always tried to prioritize.
The Dragon has been unleashed and we couldn’t have done it with all of you.
